After acquiring his Graduate Gemology degree, Steve joined the family business in 1980. Prior to that, he graduated with a business degree from the University of Maryland and spent four plus years working in the jewelry industry in both retail and manufacturing. Steve is proud to carry on a family business that has been serving Easton, Talbot County, and the Eastern Shore for over three generations. Steve has made multiple trips to Antwerp, Belgium searching out the finest diamonds for customers and for the business. Oustide of work, Steve enjoys time with his family. He also enjoys an occasional game of golf.
Mary Kay joined Shearer the Jeweler in 1996. Prior to joining the family business she was a Registered Nurse practicing in Easton. While raising two daughters Mary Kay began working with the business. Today, Mary Kay handles the bookkeeping as well as assisting Steve in selecting new designs for the store. Mary Kay is an avid tennis player and is a health and fitness fanatic.
Our goldsmith, JonMaria is a graduate of East Carolina University School of Art. A multi-award winning goldsmith, JonMaria has worked at Shearer the Jeweler for 20 years. One of her highest achievements was being The Jewelers of America national award winner. JonMaria is currently enrolled in the GIA Master Bench Jeweler program. She has a passion for creating one of a kind pieces- some of which are displayed in our showroom. Outside of work, she enjoys birdwatching and visiting Assateague Island.
After working in the retail/clothing business for over 30 years, Anne is excited to join the Shearer staff. Originally from Maryland, Anne moved to Easton about three years ago to be closer to family (& the beach!). She loves walking, antiquing and learning all about the jewelry industry.
An Easton native already somewhat versed in the jewelry industry, Rebekah is pleased to be a part of the Shearer family. She has completed two diamond courses and is eager to learn more. In her free time she enjoys going to the gym and spending time with her husband and family.
Deb is very excited about joining the Shearer "family" after spending most of her career in retail management and customer service. Deb is a resident of Dorchester County along with her husband and two white German sheperds. She enjoys remodeling, rustic crafting, her grandchildren and spending time at the beach.
Finley is our newest, very part time, addition. He is learning how to be a good store mascot. Although he is only a year old, we think he's learning the ropes pretty quickly! He's pictured here with his best friend, Alien.
